From IMDB entertainment news: “Socialite Paris Hilton has defended herself against criticism of her extensive pet collection, insisting she only owns 17 dogs because they keep breeding. The Simple Life star is currently at the centre of a new Los Angeles Department of Animal Services investigation after recently boasting about her pooches on Ellen DeGeneres’ TV talk show. But Hilton claims her brood keeps growing because she doesn’t want to separate newborn pups from their parents. She says, ‘They keep having babies and I feel bad to give them away because I feel like, if I had a baby and someone gave it away it would be mean.’”
Oh my god. It’s called SPAY/NEUTER, you DUMBASS.
Calpernia Addams is so awesome and badass! (New grrlcrush!) This cracked me up over at Feministe, so I’m re-posting:
I really need to see Transamerican Love Story. Holy shit, it sounds amazing.
Here’s an update on my top-down raglan. Kinda feels like I’ve been working on it forever, but there’s more done than there is remaining to be done, so that’s good, right. Anyway, here it is, pinned to my dummy, since I just put it back *on* the needles a couple nights ago after trying it on for length, and it’s such a pain to move off and on the needles. If I’m lucky, the next time you see this, it’ll be done. Or at least only the sleeves will be left. Initially, I thought I’d want long sleeves, so I left those stitches active on scrap yarn. Now I’m thinking I like them as they are, but they’re still active. Oy. Anyway, I’m still deciding, but they’ll go very quickly whatever I end up doing. Finishing off the bottom flounce thing is what’s taking so long. I like it, though. Alot. (Even the pooling doesn’t bother me – which is good, since alternating skeins every couple rows was doing nothing to get rid of the pooling.)

Today’s the first, so it’s official:
I, Kathy, pledge that I shall abstain from the purchase of “new” manufactured items of clothing, for the period of 6 months. I pledge that I shall refashion, renovate, recycle preloved items for myself with my own hands in fabric, yarn or other medium for the term of my contract. I pledge that I will share the love and post a photo of my refashioned, renovated, recycled, crafted or created item of clothing on the Wardrobe Refashion blog, so that others may share the joy that my thriftiness brings! Signed__Kathy__.
AWESOME!
