Haven’t posted in ages, because I’ve been sick. Stupid seasonal allergies/sinus problems – hasn’t been completely terrible except for a couple days (although those were stupendously miserable), but I’ve had zero energy. So when it’s “sit in front of the computer, edit pictures, and blog vs. go to bed,” “go to bed” has been winning.
Thanksgiving was really nice. Greg and I went to his mom’s as per usual, and had a great laidback Thanksgiving. Megadeth RULED, and then the next night we saw Emilie Autumn and the Bloody Crumpets, and that was fantastic. So good! Here’s a shot of Greg and me with EA at the meet & greet:

I’ve got more photos, and quite a bit of video, but I haven’t processed it yet, and I don’t know how good they’ll be, really. I was so excited, I wasn’t really paying attention to getting excellent video footage. I also didn’t want to use up the memory and not be able to take photos/video later, so sometimes I wanted to keep filming but thought I’d better cut it off, so I tried to find a good stopping point. But who knows. Anyway. I’ll get those up later. The show was incredible!
Wow, that was just last weekend. Feels like longer ago, probably because I was out some this week, and then had to make up time Thursday night and yesterday, and my sense of time is all out of whack. I guess.
Today, among other things, I read a most excellent and helpful post on haircolor questions by the marvelous Zoetica Ebb. I’ve been wanting to dye my hair green, but didn’t want to go to the EA show with green fingers, so I planned to bleach my hair this weekend. I ran by Sally’s for bleach, but didn’t like the only green Manic Panic they had, so I ended up going to Hot Topic for the dye. I was all set to bleach and dye today, when I read that article. (After reading this article on eyebrows, and holy shit do I want to tattoo a guide, remove my eyebrows, and draw them in in that gorgeous Mac Contrast; although really, I think I’ll just buy some Mac Contrast and use it as eyeshadow instead? I don’t think I’m really ready to remove my eyebrows completely, or even mostly. Also, how beautiful is her hair? Also, EA’s hair, and the Bloody Crumpets’ hairs. The day after the show, there might have been a tiny amount of wavering over whether *green* was what I really wanted.) I’ve heard of color strippers before – why the FUCK haven’t I tried them? How have I gone…something like sixteen years of hair-dyeing without figuring this out? I’ve fucking experienced old color coming out when I bleach. Color Fix is a goddamn miracle. Picked some up from Sally’s today (and holy shit is it fucking cold, I am not ready for this much cold unless I can stay home in my jimmies), and did two applications, and my hair is crazy light, considering. Now, it’s two weeks of shampooing more color out, and then some bleach and toner (because 1-not quite light enough, and 2-I’ve got brown roots from what had no dye to strip), and then GREEN! And then lots and lots of conditioning.
But now that I know about the wonders of Color Fix, I am going to change my hair color as often as I goddamn well please. (Well, much more often, at any rate.)
