The weekend rundown:
-Still sick with the crud. Seasonal allergies are whooping my ass. My throat is sore all the time, I cough up super-nasty stuff most mornings, and my energy levels are lower than usual. But other than that, no real complaints, especially since apparently (I’ve been oblivious until lately) norovirus is running around campus. Soooooo happy I haven’t got that, so I’ll just sit tight with my stupid sinuses and thank my stars.
-Friday, Greg’s band, Zardoz had a show in Murfreesboro. I’m not so hot at being a passenger in cars on long drives, much less long drives in the wee hours, and they’d be getting back in around 6am. Also, they had to leave at 5pm, which is when I’d be getting out of my EMDR session. So I had to skip this show. Probably for the best, though. The EMDR session was interesting, not too rough, and I learned some new self-soothing techniques. (Yeah, I need practice self-soothing, I am not so hot at that, so I was happy to learn those.) I got dinner, ran errands, and the highlight of the evening was probably when I mired the hybrid in the mud off the side of our driveway. Yeah. I’m a renius. When I finally got home, there were three cars in the driveway, plus when the guys got back, they’d have the van and a Uhaul trailer, and I had bellydance class Saturday morning, earlier than I wanted to wake them up to let me out. So I thought I’d be smart and park near the side of the driveway, facing out, so they could pull in past me. Except I forgot until too late that that is an EXCELLENT way to get badly stuck in the mud.
-Saturday: Didn’t get to go to bellydance class.
But I felt pretty crappy and exhausted, so even if the car had been unstuck, I probably would’ve stayed home. I slept in pretty late, and woke up right as Greg and Cody were trying to get the car out. They are brilliant and awesome, and got it unstuck (basically by giving the car an assist from the van, kind of like towing a bit). We’d invited people over for dinner and games, so once I was awake, I got gussied up (see above and below), and ready to play games. I had tons of fun!
I am fond of dresses over pants, and this one has pockets! Even better. (I thought it was so cute, I got it in pink, too.)

-Today, I did go to bellydance class – woo woo! Sara’s added a second class on Sundays at Hillsborough Yoga and Healing Arts, an ongoing drop-in class for all levels, a “skills and drills” type class, so I took that today as well as the “regular” class (where we’re learning a choreography to Beats Antique’s “Discovered”). Two and a half hours of bellydance class was freaking AWESOME, and great for me, considering it’s about the only form of exercise I enjoy. But it might have been a smidge ambitious on top of my stupid sinus crap, since I got home and promptly took a long nap. Then I pottered about, watched Apparitions and Strange. (I *love* Strange! If only I could find it on dvd.) And now it’s time for bed, I think.
I still need to post my fake nails from last week and this week, and about my SEA MONKEYS! They’re about a week old, and I lurve them! I love sea monkeys so much. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to get some again. It’s been….seven or eight years. Anyway, more on the awesomeness of sea monkeys later, it is bedtime.
