FOTD: Resident Evil (6/29/10)

June 29, 2010 at 9:22 pm (blather, FOTD, preen, sing praises, watch)

I love the Resident Evil movies, I love Milla Jovovich, and I love, love, love Evil Shades Cosmetics! I placed an order late Wednesday, and got it yesterday (the following Monday). Awesome!

I got samples of all the lippies, because I couldn’t narrow it down from the online swatches. Now that they’re here – still having trouble narrowing it down. I think I may just have to get them *all*. Hm. :)

I also got several eyeshadow samples, and when I saw Sweet Alice and Zombie, I knew 1-I had to use them together, and 2-that it would be Resident Evil-themed. So then I thought, why not push it more into zombie/infected territory, so I decided to try Neritic as a liner to see if I could make myself look sick. :D I like how it turned out – I did look kind of unwell in real life, from a distance. But up close, it was more wearable. (I would have liked to look even more sickly and gross, but I *did* have to go to work.) And, not surprisingly, I loved Zicke. The color, the consistency, its endurance, and especially its scent (some kind of heavenly, light coconut).

-Evil Shades Cosmetics eyeshadow in Sweet Alice (lid, blended into crease)
-Evil Shades Cosmetics eyeshadow in Neritic (to line upper and lower lashlines, smudged with finger a bit)

Fierce zombie! :O y’know, if you’d added black to both waterlines it could have gone into totally girly territory XD

I know, it was a lot of pink, actually. I thought about using something redder, but I wanted to use all Evil Shades.

But on days when I’m not actually trying to look a little sickly, I will for sure rock the eyeliner and mascara.

I loved her in The 5th Element, and I think she did a Joan of Arc movie… ?

She did, indeed, do Joan of Arc. And while I was at IMDB confirming the title (I was thinking “the Messenger”, which is apparently part of an alternate title), I discovered a FOURTH Resident Evil is in post! Oh frabjous day! I think I may have to watch all the RE movies this week to celebrate. Also, it’s been ages since I’ve watched them, so, about time. I get chills every time I hear the opening credits music.

I think you did a good job of showing a zombie effect even with the pink eyeshadows. My sample of Neritic is somehow not as pink and more orangey but oh wells. Based on your FOTD, I love Zicke too (not enough swatches out there of this color) and can’t wait to get it in the mail!

Thank you! I feel like this is a fair job of “recently infected” – you know, when you’re obviously starting to turn but not fully there yet. I can live with it. Some day, though, I’m going to have to attempt a full-on zombie look. Some day when I have some latex, either white-blue lenses or better Photoshop skills, and like a whole day to do it. Hee.

My sample of Neritic looked like it might have separated out a bit – there was a noticeable yellow patch towards the bottom of the bag, and I didn’t mix it back up before using, so that might be why it’s looking pinker here?

Zicke is soooo pretty! I just want to stroke it and call it My Precioussssssssss.

Actually, though, maybe some Zombie under my eyes, to emphasize the bags and make me look really drawn. Hm. I’ll have to play with this look again.

Dude dude dude I just saw the first Resident Evil movie the other day… it was sooo awesome! Now I’m Netflixing the next two so I can see #4 when it comes out :D

Oh yay! I’m glad you liked it, because it is definitely one of my favorites. And one of my favorites that isn’t a bad movie. (I have some of those, where it’s like, “…And this is one of my favorites, but it’s bad and you probably wouldn’t like it, but I love it.) I think some parts in the second struck me as a little weak, or convenient, plotwise, but it was still enjoyable. The third one is back to being awesome, though. And the fourth looks damn good, too, so far.
