FOTD: e.l.f.’s Dark Eyes & Pale Lips (9/25/10)
Saturday night, we went to hang out with Brandi, Jonny, Louise, and Scott. They introduced us to Pawn Stars and Wonderpets, and then we watched some Youtube videos on their Roku. It was lots of fun, and I felt like trying out an e.l.f. look I’d been wanting to. I liked how it turned out, although I used a different lipgloss, and I’m not sure the tinted moisturizer really gave me a “dewy” look. (I would love a dewy finish, I just haven’t found a good one yet – any recommendations?)

So, the recommended gloss is Fairy, but there’s a bug on the website so when you “buy the look,” you buy Flirt. No big deal. (Unfortunately the local Target doesn’t carry e.l.f. on a regular basis.) And I had problems with the black Brightening Eye Liner, just like I did with the brown one a while back. No matter how I warm them up, their application is uneven, and they’re hard and pokey. I don’t really mind, since I love the 24/7 liners and the Liquiline Blasts, and all the e.l.f. makeup that does work for me is cheap as hell (price-wise), so I don’t mind the eyeliners crapping out on me. And I’m not sure that I agree that the mascara is volumizing – I don’t see it. But I still like it. Not quite as much as Nyx Doll Eye, but good as a backup. And I extended the darker shadow further than than the “Get the Look” instructed, but oh well. I do love a black lid. If I had to pick one look to wear the rest of my life, it would certainly be heavy liner and a black lid.
NOTD are two coats of China Glaze Ingrid – yeah, I finally jumped on that bandwagon. But can you blame me? It’s gorgeous, and this picture is five days after I put it on. Not bad for no top coat; just a little tip wear.
