Haflaween practice #3
Just about right. I need to make sure the sequin tape string doesn’t show. I’m not entirely sold on the curlicue on my left cheek, but I don’t know what else to put there. I’m thinking I might need some stars next to my eyes? And some red dots across my forehead (above the web) and down into the blush on my temples? Or would that be too busy? Anyway, we’ll see. Oh yes – and setting that Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil is a bitch. It seemed to stay better, and not fall down or get patchy, but it greased up my brush something crazy. It took around two and a half hours, total, and taking it off was INSANE. I don’t know if I’ll ever feel clean again, and don’t be surprised if I don’t wear makeup for a while. But I think this is my favorite makeup I’ve done, ever. I’m very, very happy with it! (Hopefully I can reproduce it easily tomorrow.) On to the pictures.

I’m a little worried about smudging, because there are two points in the choreo where we pinch our noses, but we’ll see. (And you might get to see, too, since Blue Moon is filming it, and my class’s bit might get posted on youtube. Fingers crossed.)
And now I’ve got to take in my skirt a smidge (it drops down about an inch when I do the chest lifts, and I can’t be hitching it up while I’m dancing), and figure out what to do with my hair, and then practice a BAJILLION times so I can chill out, and decide how to pose at the end. (Posing at the end is probably my least favorite thing, ever, and we have a TON of time at the end to pose, so I can’t just stand there. Bleah.)
Unknown lemming (update: PWNED by Heather)
So, in one episode of…season three, iirc, of True Blood, “my Pammie”* has a conversation in the bathroom with Jessica, and Pam’s applying this pencil lipstick/pigmented gloss, in an absolutely gorgeous shade. I want that lipstick SO. HARD! y’all, but I have no idea how to figure out what it is. It is killing me. Although I guess I could probably start by rewatching that episode a couple times, to see if I can get a better look at it.
*I like to call her this because it’s kind of silly, and it started when that bastard magister was torturing her, because I honestly yelped to Greg, “Not my Pammie!!” She’s my favorite.
FOTD: I kind of love Rob Zombie (10/25/10)
It’s true, I do kind of love Rob Zombie. Not that I really listen to his music that often, but when I do, I love it. White Zombie, too. And his wife, Sheri Moon? Adorbs. Not so much into his films, but anyway. “Living Dead Girl” is probably my favorite of his songs, so I totally squeed when I saw that eyeshadow, and had to use it first. And I looooooove it! Eeeeee! (Also, my chin is getting really mad about all the cold cream I’ve been using lately.)

Haflaween makeup dry run #2
It needs a bunch of tweaking, but this is why I’m working it out beforehand. I also need to make my headband.

Pixie_a_la_mode recommended Coty face powder, since the white face paint I tried in the first dry run was a disaster. Coty is pretty perfumed, and it’s a bit overwhelming (especially when it goes up my nose), but I think it’s perfect for my purposes.

Swatch Sunday, 10/23/10: Maybelline Sensational lippies
I got a couple Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks yesterday, and realized I’ve been really into Maybelline’s Sensational lip products for a while now, and have a decent collection of them. So, this is what I’ll be swatching for a couple weeks. Today I’ve got my Pearls and my brown Sensationals to show you.
