Chemistry/modern medicine is soooo weird

Not to overshare, but tonight I start a new medication (trying to get a better handle on my night-time anxiety/getting to sleep), and one of its possible side effects is – get this – “unwanted breast milk.”

How insane is that?!

I wonder what the likelihood is. Hmm. I guess we’ll see.

FOTD: Pretty simple, actually (11/22/10)

I got fitted for contacts over the weekend, so I can wear sunglasses when it’s bright as fuck, and still be able to *see*. Like, at all. I am blind as shit, y’all. (Well, not really. But there’s this awesome anxiety interaction where, once shit gets a bit blurry, I start getting anxious about not being able to see, and shit just gets even more blurry because of my anxiety. Perception distortion for the win, yeah?) Anyway, I’m starting to get used to them, and last night I decided to find out if Zero would smudge onto my contacts when I did my waterlines. The good news is, it doesn’t. But I couldn’t manage to get all of it off my eyes last night, and it didn’t budge while I was sleeping, and you know what that means: I’m just going to trowel that shit on more heavily the next day. And here we are!

Soup Thursday: Early Autumn Red Lentil Dal with Panch Phoron

Verdict: damn good!

I added a bit more yogurt than Greg did, and he added a bit of cock sauce. I couldn’t find split mung beans, but I didn’t really look very hard, so I used whole mung beans. They turned out alright, but a bit al dente, so next time I’ll look harder for the split ones. The recipe is here.

FOTD: Biker’s Ice Cream Party (11/16/10)

I wanted to try my hand at recreating the look from this video (especially now that my hair’s variegated blue, and I love matching makeup and hair). I didn’t want to do this *today*, since it was kind of involved, plus I had therapy (which isn’t always conducive to makeup). But I felt like playing with makeup tonight after I finished practicing uke (yes!), so I did. Yeah. It’s a shit ton of slap, but I like it!

FOTD: Chocolate for a Prude (11/15/10)

I swear I didn’t mean to do another pink and brown look, but I really wanted to wear the lipstick, and I wasn’t sure what to pair with it, so I didn’t a more neutral eye, which I guess for me means light pink and brown. Urgh – and I didn’t notice that mascara smear on my right eye until I was in the car this morning. Oh well. Also, I touched up my hair last night, or, rather, dyed it again. I was going to touch it up, but I didn’t have quite enough pink dye for all the pink section, so I just mixed it with the blue-ish dye. I like how it turned out kind of variegated.

Sauce ‘n Cake is awesome!

Greg had “dessert” last night:

That’s sauerkraut with creamy horseradish, Dijon mustard, and freshly ground pepper. I don’t like sauerkraut, but he loves it, so…yay for him.

But then I decided to make this Dr. Oetker Sauce ‘n Cake mix – Hot Apple Cinnamon thing I picked up because it looked interesting. It claimed to be sponge cake with its own sauce, that you mixed and bake in one pan. When I pulled it out of the oven, it looked a bit flat and runny – but it was scrumptious! And the cake part was totally baked all the way through, no runny batter, just runny sauce.

Extra delicious with some whipped cream.
