I hope you’re ready for some grossness and oversharing. Just as soon as this project finishes stabilizing. Oh boy!
Soup Thursday, 2/3/11: the Best Husband Ever edition
So, I went to the psychiatrist for the first time Tuesday, and it was good, but I don’t want to hijack Soup Thursday too much – the pertinent facts are: 1-I stopped taking Seroquel, so I’m going through a bit of withdrawal, apparently, and 2-I’ve got that 5-hour blood glucose test Monday, and this evening I started getting nervous about it. So when we got home, I was all out of sorts and fuzzy-headed. I couldn’t seem to make heads or tails of the recipe (which is actually super simple), and I got frustrated and weepy – and my fantastic hubby very wonderfully took over so I could sit on the couch and chill the fuck out from my little meltdown. Everyone needs a Greg in their life! I love that man.
The soup was another winner! Spinach, bell pepper, onion, garlic, orzo, dill, lemon pepper – YUM! We had toasted pitas with it. (And my sense of smell is going *nuts*, so they smelled super wheat-y and delicious.)

Blibbety blabbety
Friday, I treated myself to a trip to the nail salon. I walk around barefoot every chance I get, so my feet are usually the dirtiest in bellydance class. (Which wouldn’t be so bad, but when we do our warm-ups, we “draw circles” with our toes, and you can see the soles of everyone’s feet in the mirror.) I figured a pedicure might be worthwhile. And my fingernails have been splitting and breaking badly lately, and I just wanted cute, longer nails, so I got gels while I was at it. Essie No Boundaries is super cute, y’all!

I’m not really a fan of square nails on myself; I think they just look weirdly proportioned on me, no matter what the length. But the dude that did my nails *really* didn’t want to round them, so I just went with it and filed them myself a couple days later. I had to file them, anyway, because they were slightly too long to play uke with.
Everything’s coming up Milhouse!
Squee! I won Cacau Morgana Cryptoria lipstick giveaway! So psyched! (Although I feel like an ass for not checking y’all’s blogs over the weekend/til just now. Boo on me – I’ve got a lot of reading and commenting to catch up on.)
So sweet! I know I want Mistress, but I can’t seem to decide on the second color. (Also, Melissa’s releasing new colors soon, so…more drooling on my part.) Lipstick, lipstick, lipstick! Time to go jump around like a joyous little kid. (Pretend I’m not an adult. I’m certainly not mature.
)
This is an excellent little mood boost, too – I’ve got a 5-hr blood glucose test coming up Monday, BLEAH, and I’ve been not looking forward to it. Now I can think about pretty pretties coming my way, thank you, Cacau! I’m quite positive it will help me be less of a bitch to the poor souls that will have to deal with me. Hmm…makeup as a reward/incentive/palliative for necessary-but-blecccch-y things I have to do…yes, that could work.
