Makeup Heroes!

I finally got my accent tag (filmed, like, a month ago?) uploaded to YT, and here it is:

Also, you should be sure to check out the other ladies’ videos – they are pretty goddamn awesome. I’ve most recently watched Helen’s Marie (from Aristocats)-inspired look, and Robyn’s Nicki Minaj-inspired look, and they are brilliant! We got some talented, lovely ladies in

And my Nicki Minaj-inspired look should be up soon. I filmed it a month-ish ago (right before the accent tag), but haven’t finished editing it yet. But you can see the finished look in the accent tag.

And go check out The Makeup Heroes!

World’s Biggest Summit

Okay, so I signed up for Gala Darling’s Radical Self Love Bootcamp, and have only just started it, and I love it. If you’re into that sort of thing and can afford it, go sign yourself up and get cracking.

If you’re into “that sort of thing” but can’t afford it, or if you already know you love Goddess Leonie but can’t afford a Circle membership, get your butt in gear and get in on the World’s Biggest Summit!!! It is TOTALLY FREE and TOTALLY, RIGHTEOUSLY AWESOME! I’m behind in listening to all the speakers, and *just* got started, and have only listened to Day 1 so far (Alexandra Franzen, Cairene MacDonald, and Jamie Ridler) – but I have ALREADY gotten sooooooo much out of it. I’m just overbrimming with “wild donkey ride” goodness, and renewed energy and excitedness about getting shit done! and getting back on the “taking care of myself, and being creative, and doing nourishing stuff” bandwagon. Seriously: GO DO IT! You will feel soooo good, and be so in love with the entire world, promise!

Swatch Sunday, 10/09/11: Theatre of the Nameless

Swatches of what I got from Illamasqua’s brilliant Theatre of the Nameless Collection. (Seriously may have to pick up what I didn’t get, because I am clearly Illamasqua’s bitch. I mean, this collection has my name all over it. But I started with the ones that had it written the boldest. :) )

Powder Blusher in Morale:

Heavily swiped, lightly swiped, lightly swiped and blended out, left to right:

Lippies, bottom to top: Intense Lipgloss in Facade, Intense Lipgloss in Belladonna, Lipstick in Kontrol

left to right: Facade, Belladonna, Kontrol (& blended out a bit so you can see what it’d look like more lightly applied)

Facade:

Belladonna:

Kontrol:

Nail Varnishes in Kink (green) and Faux Pas (purple) – I’m not sure what the finish on these is properly called, but I fucking loooooove it. Kinda of a…pvc feel? I’m digging it. (And it reminds me of the gimp on American Horror Story, even though his suit is shinier.) Definitely want Vice and Taint hardcore now that I’ve seen these beauties.(According to the Illamasqua website – no, for once, I wasn’t too lazy to look it up – these are “rubber” finishes. Fuck I love them.)

One coat:

Two coats:

LOVE this collection. Swooning HARD for Illamasqua right about now.

I am woefully behind on posting videos for the Makeup Heroes channel – and have two videos filmed but not edited. Sadly, I will not be editing tonight, as we just got back from the Weird Al show, and it’s heading towards bedtime already. :( But tomorrow night, I am absolutely throwing words up on that accent tag and posting it, and then filming my September faces. Pinky swear. I also have a Nicki Minaj-inspired look that I need to edit. Will get that up soon, too. And then HALLOWEEN COSTUMES! Good lord. And on top of that, getting back into regular posting, regular commenting, regular exercise, better food (read: no sugar for little Kathys), bellydance practice, uke practice, HELLA crafting for other people, and trying to learn some German for Vokken next summer. Going to be busy, but should be fun! As Goddess Leonie would say, it is time to ride ze wild donkey!

I NEED A BLACK KITTEN
GREGORY
I NEED ONE
LOOK AT THAT WOODGIE EVIL LITTLE FACE
NEEEEEEEEEEEEEED

This is what my husband lives with, like, EVERY DAY.

(“Woodgie” is Kathy-nese for “so fucking goddamn adorable I can’t even use a real word, nor speak like an adult, I’ve been reduced to ridiculous made-up babytalk, THAT’S how cute it is, I can’t even stand it.”)

Thank you, Victoria!!!!

Perfectly lovely – and absolutely easy-peasy – Edwardian hairstyle. Kind of similar to a hairstyle I used to fall back on for a while, which consisted of French-twisting from the front, down the sides, to the back, and then either putting the length in one or two buns or rolling it up. Except this style doesn’t necessitate the French-twisting (nor bobby-pinning thereof), so EVEN EASIER. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! Considering I almost always have a ponytail holder and a couple bobby pins on me, and my love of old-fashioned hairstyles, this will probably become my new go-to “get this shit OFF MY NECK ALREADY, it’s too hot!” hairstyle. And all thanks to a video tute Victoria pinned on Pinterest. Yay! :D

Edited to add: Here is the fantastic (and fantastically easy) tutorial that Victoria brought to my attention. :D

Swatch Sunday (10/02/11) & FOTN: Facade (09/30/11)

Supremely lazy. Lazy look (like it anyway), lazy Swatch Sunday, lazy post. Pretty much how I roll, yes? :D

Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Facade:

And how I wore it to karaoke.

-L’Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense
-Rimmel Sexy Curves in Extreme Black
-Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Facade

In spite of my tendency to dislike nude lipcolors, or think they don’t work on me – I FUCKING LOVE FACADE!
