FOTD: Canmake Jealousness (7/28/12)

Sorry the lighting/color in these is a little off. I wore this look earlier, forgot to photograph it, and wore it again while visiting Wendy. And I’ll be damned if I wear it a third time any time soon in a bid to get a more color-accurate set of pictures. So this is what you get. (It’s not that off, actually, but enough to ping my OCD. And my lip closeup was actually greenish in some places. So I just cropped my lips out from the full face pic and used that.)

FOTD: Sobe Get the Look Orange, Pink, and Purple by Blix (7/4/12)

Kit from here, and look/tute here. Blix is so brilliant, isn’t she? And Lex (owner of Sobe) is an absolute doll! She contacted me after I placed an order, to let me know she was having a sale soon, and ask if I wanted her to cancel my order so I could replace it in a couple days during the sale. I said no (impatient to get my pretties!), thanks, and then asked about her lippie Verdigris, since I’d wanted it but it wasn’t listed in her Etsy store – and she sent it to me for free, in addition to free eyeshadow and foundation samples! How nice! And it all got here super fast! Squee!! :) Also, Claire gave me the best summer bottoms idea EVER – she’s brilliant, too. FOTD: Yo Dawg, I heard you liked Sugar Pill! (6/29/12)

I needed something bright and cheery and maybe a bit over-the-top and silly/fun. So, this is the makeup and outfit I went with. It did a pretty good job of cheering me up, I must admit. Sugarpill and Darling Girl and Shiro and ribbons and Hello Kitty jewelry and frosting rings and silly guts and fishnets and Docs are a fantastic combo for cheering up and not feeling too serious.

More dresses!

These are the two vintage dresses I got at The Clothing Warehouse, while Wendy was visiting. I loves them.

I’ve also been wearing the hell out of a black jersey maxi skirt, but I haven’t managed to snag Greg to get pics of it. Also, I need to pose better. For real. Not that I really care, though, because I’m not a model, so who cares! Whee!

FOTD: Mardi Gras Gradient (2/21/12)

I did this for NTMS’s weekly showcase, but didn’t get the pictures to Wendi in time, nor this post up. Bew, me. But I did it, and here it is. (Although, to be honest? I’m kind of glad it’s not in the showcase post – everyone else’s *smokes* mine, they’re so awesome!) And, let me toot my own horn, that dress is KILLER. I clean up pretty nicely, no? (The dress is from Bettie Page.) We went to the Pinhook to listen to our friend Jay play accordion with his Cajun/zydeco/AWESOME band. It was AMAZING. And then the guys all had a Ms. PacMan competition, and guess what? Yours truly is married to the winner. I know, it’s pretty sweet. I’m going to start entering him into competitions and watch the money just roooolllllll in. ;) Seriously, though, it was cute.

Nails of last week: Essie Power Clutch

Love it! (And according to Vogue, Rooney Mara’s a fan of the shade as well. But I actually picked this up *before* I read that one of my grrlcrushes likes it, too. Yay, synchronicity. The boots – from the shoe video – I bought AFTER reading, though. She had a similar pair that was her current fave – I believe the brand was All Saints? The Damisis, I believe. And a bit pricey by my standards. So I got something similar – 2 Lips Too Women’s Too Livid Ankle Boot, off Amazon – but cheaper, and am pretty chuffed.)

SHOES!

Aren’t these adorable?! Silly, but adorable. I love them. They’re going to be my go-to shoes this Spring and Summer – which, hopefully, gives me ample time to learn to walk in them without wobbling. :) Shouldn’t be too difficult, as they’re wedges, not heels. So cute, though! And the strawberry bling ornaments on the side?! CUUUUUUUUTE! They’re the Oriento Sun So by Irregular Choice. And I think this is the harbinger of a torrid love affair with Irregular Choice and Poetic Licence shoes. Also, I can’t wait to start sewing up cute skirts to wear with them.

Ugh, and the pagoda carved into the heels just kills me! LOVE IT!

FOTD: The Lumos Plum (1/11/12)

Now that I think about it – isn’t that weird glowing fruit from True Blood called a lumos fruit?

Anyway, I am SUPER BEHIND in editing pictures, making posts, posting videos for the Makeup Heroes, and ESPECIALLY commenting on blogs – as I’m sure y’all have noticed. Mea culpa. Right on getting that fixed. :)
