33!

I am wearing a LOT of pink today. And my whichgoose flower headband. And a necklace from Darling Girl. And my Alienskin Hippie Hoodie, and my Zombie Audrey shirt. And PINK – lots of pink. And a lovely new ring from Greg, that I actually got early, because I decided not to wait until today, and it’s so lovely, and I’m happy to have a kind of replacement for last year’s birthday ring (that the stone got knocked out of, and then the ring itself got stolen, boo; I know it’s just “stuff,” but I was kind of sad, sentimental value and all that; plus I’m a total magpie and love shinies!). Anyway, so Greg gave it to me early, and I just sat, grinning like a total loon (actually, possibly even *gurning* over it, I was that dopey), and saying, “Look at that shit! Look at that fucking shit!” over and over and over and over and over and over, for about…thirty minutes? MY FUCKING FACE HURT from smiling at the ring. I had to take a break from looking at it, and calm myself down, it was ridiculous. I do so love shinies, though.

Anyway, today is like: I’m not trying for a cohesive look, I’m just wearing what I want to. Which 1-isn’t that clashy, actually, and 2-isn’t that different from most days, but I’m happy, so yay.

Here is my loverly ring, and my new favorite pretty fucking bright pink nail polish. (Which is Nox Twilight’s Crush. One coat was damn good, and I could’ve stopped there – but I didn’t. Also, the finish is intriguing. It’s like, semi-semi-matte. Sometimes looking a bit rubbery. I don’t know. But I love it.)

FOTD: Canmake Jealousness (7/28/12)

Sorry the lighting/color in these is a little off. I wore this look earlier, forgot to photograph it, and wore it again while visiting Wendy. And I’ll be damned if I wear it a third time any time soon in a bid to get a more color-accurate set of pictures. So this is what you get. (It’s not that off, actually, but enough to ping my OCD. And my lip closeup was actually greenish in some places. So I just cropped my lips out from the full face pic and used that.)

Swatch Sunday, 7/22/12: Portland Black Lipstick Company

First things first, credit due to Mai, for reviewing this company, and providing A-FUCKING-MAZING swatches, or I wouldn’t have even known this gloriousness existed. You should run over and check out her swatches: Part One, and Part Two. Her swatches are much better applied than mine, and just gorgeous, AND she has more colors up, so you should definitely go check them out. But I’m going to throw these swatches up anyway (even though Mai’s are the queens!), because I FUCKING LOVE PBLC. Truth. (Also, I think my swatches are a bit more heavy-handed than Mai’s, so, if you’re into that…there you go. You can see how they look either sheer or heavy-handed like a sumbitch. ;) ) You can buy PBLC products here, but some of their products (like Vegan Corpse Paint, Lux et Voluptas, and Chaiborg, which I’ll be swatching as soon as they arrive) at their etsy shop, here. You NEED some, promise!

Also, sorry the area around my lips is a bit red in some shots. This is what happens when, instead of swatching slowly throughout the week like I’d planned (to avoid such redness), I get lazy and just have a swatchfest on Sunday in one go. Soz.

HOLY DUCKBILLS, YOU GUISE!!!!!!!!

I HAVE SOME AMAZING, AMAZING, *AMAZING* SWATCHES FOR YOU FOR THIS SUNDAY!

SERIOUSLY SWOONING over here from my first Portland Black Lipstick Company order.

I want to go ahead and show, but I’m going to be good and wait for Swatch Sunday.

(That is a bald-faced lie: I want to go ahead and show you ALL THE FREAKING GORGEOUSNESS, but I’m waaaaay too busy playing with it right now to be bothered with anything that might interrupt playtime. Like taking photos. Soz. You’re just going to have to wait. But holy shit, SO FUCKING GOOD!)

Woowoo: My Goddess Year July

Haven’t finished coloring in the lady yet, because I haven’t quite decided how I want to color her, or whether I want to use paints, or pencils, or gel pens, or what. But here’s what I’ve got so far.

The 2012 Creating Your Goddess Year workbook and planner is available (affiliate link alert!) here (also through Goddess Leonie’s site if you’d rather not use an affiliate link). I love it, although I need to be better about working in it regularly. I did a bunch of the worksheets at the end of last year/beginning of this year, and now I need to keep up with the work and making magic happen! But also, I’ve done so much already. For instance, on my list of 100 things to do in 2012, I’ve already gotten my eyebrows waxed (hey, little things, but soothing), had a facial, learned some German, gone to Germany and London, practiced Shiva Nata, made socks for Angela (Elfine’s Lace Socks!), started a hat for Shaun (yes, Vic, it’s actually in the works – the earflaps are just giving me trouble, but it’s coming!), had a bubble bath, sent out goodie packages, had Contemplative Layabout Sundays, listened to rain, snuggled with Greg and the cats, watched old movies in my Snuggie, gotten some “shinies” (jewelry, sparkly stuff, makeup, whatever glitters – I’m a magpie, basically), made some makeup videos, gone to the dentist like an adult, hooped!, started learning ASL, gotten a jade egg (ahem), gotten some goodies from Snake Church (just hair flowers for now, still saving up for a booty skirt!), had a great anniversary, got a couples’ massage with Greg, made madeleines several times, had spa days, VOTED, celebrated full moons, had a party, got some comics, gone swimming, gone camping, and fixed my bike! GO ME! And I’ve still got tons of fun magical stuff left to do before this year is out! I love this planner, holy dinger.

FOTD: Stay Beautiful (6/4/12)

ROBYN DID MY MAKEUP!!! AND IT WAS LOVELY!!! The last day we were in London, and I didn’t have time to do more than just eyes on Robyn – but it was so much fun, nonetheless! Go gander at Robyn’s brilliance and talented skills!

(I have like a bajillion pictures to edit, plus some to get developed and scanned, and then I think a couple more on another SD card that I need to get back, and then I’ll do a proper post about the trip. Promise. But let me go ahead and say here that Robyn and Jon are the goddamn bomb! They are so fucking awesome!)

FOTD: Habanera for a trip! (6/1/12-6/2/12)

This is what I wore for our flight to England. Oh, yes – didn’t I mention? :) We went to London for two days the first week of June, and then to Germany, for MetalFest West Germany (in Loreley). London was FUCKING AWESOME! I got to meet Robyn and Jon, and they are the bestest! And I got to get my makeup done by Robyn the day we left, and I got to do Robyn’s makeup (and it turned out better than I thought, yay!). Robyn’s already posted about our makeup doings here and some other stuff (like the AWESOME strong man hooper at Selfridges). I’ve got to get our SD card back and do some massive pic editing, and then I can post about the trip itself.

But – our flight out…we got to the airport three hours early, per their suggestion, and then our flight got delayed four hours. o.o I did not look this cute when we finally rolled into London. I looked rather more scraggly and bedraggled. (My hair was still a bit curly from the day before, when the incomparable Jess at MoshiMoshi cut it for me, and used a proper diffuser. I love that shit. I’ve got to get one for myself – one that *actually* sticks on my blowdryer and STAYS on, anyway.) Plus all the cute clothes and makeup I’d packed? WTF was I thinking? I wanted to be all cute and shit for Robyn, but we were only there two days, and then having that shit at a music festival? I don’t know what I thought. That’s not true, I do: I thought I’d be getting up every morning and doing up my makeup. But 1-we were camping, and 2-I was sick. So that didn’t happen. Instead, I was overpacked. Ah well.
