FOTD: America’s Next Top Cub! (11/03/12)

So Saturday I got my hair cut, clearly, and then later in the evening I went to Flex, to watch my friend Jay compete in their cub contest. He totally should have won, but whatever. I’m biased, but I also yelled loud as hell (and wasn’t the only loud motherfucker yelling for him). I had a pretty great time, and afterward we went to IHOP and I had cheesecake pancakes. I know, you envy my life. It *is* pretty awesome. ;) Can’t remember what I did Sunday. Slept in and farted around, most likely.

OH! I stripped my hair, that’s what I did Sunday. Well, lots of farting around, and then stripped my hair. I’m trying to go vaguely pink/fuchsia (I’ve got three different shades, hopefully for more dimension), and so the old dye had to go.

Also, I am not that great at taking shots of my own hair. Obviously. (Espesh that second pic – I cut off the bottom of my head/neck/chin AND the bottom line of my hair. And that longer line is pretty dope. Especially after Jess has diffused it. Dang. My vanity is semi-thwarted. I’ll live.) And Greg wasn’t around, so….this is what you get! :O

FOTD: Romantic waters (6/26/12)

Sorry the eyes are bit smudged. It really held up beautifully all day – but then I got a migraine on the way home from work, so I had my arm over my eyes on the drive home, and smudged it off a bit. :( But it was still pretty. And then I took some ibuprofen and some benadryl (to help me sleep), and put in my earplugs, put on my sleepmask, turned the fan on high, and took a nap. And woke up three hours later with no migraine! AWESOME! (They’re the best when you just sleep right through them, I think.)

FOTD: Mouthing Off Exotically (2/1/12)

I’m officially starting a makeup no-buy today, for the entire month. I did make some last-minute purchases in January, of stuff I *really* wanted to try, so I wouldn’t be as tempted to break the no-buy – but just the stuff I felt was honestly lacking from my stash. (So, there’s still a great long list of stuff I’d like to have that I didn’t get, and won’t be getting until at least March.) I’m not including skincare/cleansing type stuff, because 1-I need to keep my face clean, and 2-I don’t tend to go as crazy splurging on skincare. Plus, I’m pretty well covered right now: really liking the Clinique three-step system, and then I’ve got plenty extra lotions and potions for extra-moisturizing, spa nights, masks, exfoliation, etc. But no buying makeup – I’m shopping my stash this month! Which I’m actually pretty excited about, as it means I’ll be using stuff that doesn’t get nearly enough love. I’m also considering a P10P, but I haven’t decided which ten items to use. To be honest, I’m almost definitely going to do a P10P as well, but it won’t start today, as I’ve got to sit and look through my stash for stuff I can use ALOT. ANYWAY! Here’s the look I put together today.

FOTD: Cthulhu Cultist (12/31/11)

New Year’s Eve was FUCKING AWESOME!

First, we went to Jay and Laura’s for “pre-gaming,” and I got to hold their newest cat (kind of still a kitten), Decker, who hasn’t let me hold her yet. She’s fierce, and adorable, and we half-snuggled/half-rough-housed. Adorable!! There was also a piƱata, and fire crackers! (And now I kind of totally want fire crackers to set off in our driveway every night. Ahem.)

Then we went to Efrain’s and Alex’s, which was Cthulhu-themed, so I went as a Cultist. Pretty much inspired by the HP Lovecraft Historical Society’s Call of Cthulhu, even though it’s in black and white. As to why I went with green and purple, I don’t know. I’ve just always imagined Cthulhu as kind of green with an oily purple sheen. Whether that translated into the makeup…..well….. And I probably should’ve used some orange around my eyes to help make them look sleepless and sunken in, but I kind of like the blue, too. (I don’t think I would have replaced the blue with orange, just augmented it. Maybe some really sallow, sickly yellow, too. Or maybe that would go even more “bruise-y” than I wanted. I was aiming for “deranged, manic, sleepless,” more than “bruised.”)

FOTD: Sultry Raven? (11/4/11)

I felt like this was a bit too much for work (I know! for me, even), but Greg liked it quite a bit. I did think it was pretty – I just wasn’t expecting the highlight color to have so much oomph to it. It’s very….shimmery. Although it’s not as in-your-face in the photos as it was in real life.
